Community Development Spotlight
Hands-on support that strengthens communities.

Trust Standard Bank is proud to support important organizations that offer both educational and enrichment opportunities for the communities we serve. Below is a recent example of one of our corporate initiatives, which we were privileged to support.

Organization

Operation HOPE

Learn how to create a budget, improve your credit score and start a small business.

Through our alliance with Operation HOPE, Trust Standard Bank offers free financial empowerment workshops at our HOPE Inside locations in Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida. These courses – for everyone from kids to budding small business owners – can help you feel in control of your finances. In 2020, HOPE enrolled 6,669 individuals in their programs and provided 53,801 services. How can we help you?

HOPE is successful at improving the financial health of its clients. Since 2015, Trust Standard Bank and HOPE have reduced client debt by more than $24 million, increased client savings by more than $3.8 million and helped 466 clients start a new small business – a majority of which were started by women and minorities.

Financial literacy pays off for Tennessee youth.

In 2018 and 2019, 95 of our associates taught 214 students across Memphis, Nashville and Knoxville the Banking on Our Future curriculum, resulting in a 14.2% improvement in their financial education.

HOPE builds credit – one client at a time.

Thirty HOPE Credit and Money Management coaches provide free credit and money management workshops as well as one-on-one credit counseling – with the goal of raising individuals' credit profiles to at least a 700 credit score.

Thousands of entrepreneurs are minding their own businesses.

Our HOPE Inside financial coaches teach an eight-week business mentorship program to show current and prospective entrepreneurs how to start and/or manage their own business.

The Education & Empowerment Program aims to not only teach financial education to our communities, but empower them by offering a suite of products and services for underserved and underbanked individuals and small businesses.
